ARTIST STATEMENT

    Like a journalist, I look for the slant in which the important elements of a painting can be woven together into a cohesive and meaningful story. Each work is a decision making process with preliminary drawings and color studies to resolve the composition, design, technique, and even style choices to communicate more clearly the essential ideas of the painting. There is an invitation for the viewer to enter the scene without a personal editorial.
